So You’re Adding an In-Ground Swimming Pool? Here’s What You Can Expect

Last updated on August 17, 2020 by Sozo Staff 1 Comment

Hiring a contractor to install an in-ground swimming pool in your yard is a huge undertaking. As with any major home improvement project, it’s extremely helpful for you as the homeowner to know what you can expect the process to entail. If you hire a reputable swimming pool installation team, here is an overview of how you should expect the project to go.

Your Yard Will Be Full of Workers

There are a whole host of people involved in the installation process for an in-ground swimming pool. These include masons, plumbers, excavators, electricians, and the project manager, to name a few. So you can expect to see a number of different people engaged in all sorts of various tasks. Most importantly, if you’re working with a quality installer, you should see the field supervisor and project manager on the scene frequently. If you ever have any kind of a question or concern about anything that the workers are doing on your property, be sure to contact the project manager. It’s their job to oversee the operation and make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Your Yard Will Be Messy

If you prefer a neat, orderly space, you’ll have to put up with being put out of your comfort zone during the installation of your in-ground pool. There’s no way to avoid the fact that your property will have to be dug up and covered with machinery and building materials. The good news is that if you work with a trusted pool installation team, they’ll be careful to keep their machines and other building materials organized and maintain high safety standards at all times. This means proper storage of all materials when they’re not being used, as well as helpful warning signs posted all around the construction site. There’s no reason for any workers to leave personal trash on your lawn. If you ever notice this type of unprofessional behavior, be sure to mention it to the project manager who should take care of the problem promptly.

You Should Be Able to Communicate with the Project Manager Freely

A great installation team is made up of skilled workers and a detail-oriented project manager whom you can rely on for open communication. The project manager’s job is to make sure you’re well informed about how the project is going on an ongoing basis. They should also be prepared to answer your questions and address your concerns. As with any project, there’s always the possibility that something unexpected could happen. The project manager should be the first to let you know about any unexpected changes in the budget or timeline of completing any phase of the project.

As you can see, making sure you have a dependable team in place is a must when it comes to adding an in-ground pool to your property. Choosing the right contractor can help to ensure you will be satisfied both with the installation process as well as the final results. So if you’re ready to take the plunge into pool installation, select your contractor wisely. Be sure to do your homework and find someone with a reputation for excellent service. Then you’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of their skillful labor with your very own backyard oasis.

The segment of your article that talked about how many workers there will be on your yard while installing the pool was a very helpful segment. I’m willing to invest as much as possible to get a fantastic backyard pool, but I can see how this could be inconvenient for my family when the project starts. I’ll make sure I find a way for my family to relax elsewhere first before getting an inground pool contractor to assist me with the project.
