Pool Health Tips: Aquatic Workouts, Part 4

Last updated on December 13, 2021 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

If you’re looking for some innovative ways to spice up your existing water workouts, this post is for you! In previous posts in this series (see Parts 1, 2 & 3), we’ve considered the many unique benefits of aquatic workouts as well as some places to find lists of workouts and ways to plan and track your workouts. Today, we’ll look at some optional tools to consider for adding interest and challenge to your workouts, whether you’re a novice swimmer, an Olympic hopeful, or somewhere in between.

Motivational Workout Solutions

Maybe your issue isn’t necessarily tracking your workouts or your times as much as keeping yourself motivated to continue. In that case, the FINIS Duo Underwater Bone Conduction MP3 Player might be a great solution! The device can be attached securely to your existing swim goggles, enabling you to multitask while you swim, listening to an audio book, podcast, music, and more. This seaworthy MP3 actually gives the clearest sound quality when submerged in water. Including 4GB of storage, which equates to up to 60 hours of playback, this device has been tested to be waterproof for up to 3 meters, for up to 30 minutes. You can view a setup tutorial here.

Pro-Level Smart Goggles

If you’re looking for even more tech that’s fully integrated into goggles, you might want to take a look at the latest Smart Goggles on the market. The Smart Goggle, powered by Ciye™, has an in-goggle display complete with an activity tracker that offers real-time feedback the way your smart phone would do on land. It allows you to track time, distance, and more during your workout; afterward, it includes analysis of your workout and logs your workout history. It also lets you connect with friends through fitness apps.

The FORM Smart Swim Goggles are similar, as you can see in this promotional video. Also including real-time workout instructions and metrics, these Smart Goggles combine with the FORM Swim App to allow you to customize your dashboard, allowing you to upload guided swim workouts, view a variety of metrics, celebrate your progress, and more.

Powerful Additions

Maybe you don’t really want to change your workout routine or go high-tech, but you do want to add a level of challenge to your aquatic regime. Sporti Power Swim Paddles might be just the thing! Designed for enhanced training, these paddles help encourage proper stroke technique without inhibiting the natural feeling of water flow. Perfect for building upper body strength, these paddles are adjustable with a finger strip. The small holes lessen the resistance and help to ensure that the water does not overpower your hands.

You might also want to check out the contoured version of the paddles, Sporti Swim Paddles II. Featuring a similar but more ergonomic design, these paddles have adjustable silicon rubber straps and are designed for your choice of backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle.
