Our Favorite Pool Waterslides for Little Ones

Last updated on May 17, 2018 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

If you’re going to add a single major accessory to your in-ground swimming pool, we highly recommend installing a waterslide! If you have young children, run an at-home daycare, or frequently host families with small children, you may want to consider a smaller slide than those we’ve already reviewed from Inter-Fab or S.R. Smith. When it comes to slides for little ones, you can opt for either permanent, built-in designs or inflatable units. Today, we’ll look at some permanent options. Two additional reasons you may want to opt for these more compact slides is that they take up less space on your poolside deck and — as you would probably expect — they cost less than their larger counterparts. Another added bonus is that they are more likely to allow for privacy, since they are not taller than standard privacy fences.

Inter-Fab Zoomerang Water Pool Slide

Zoomerang Water Pool Slide

The Inter-Fab Zoomerang Pool Slide seems to offer the best of both worlds: it is small and safe enough for young children while still able to support the weight of older kids and some adults. The weight capacity of the Zoomerang Slide is 200 pounds, and the height is 37 inches. The deep, U-shaped flume allows for both safety and comfort. This slide uses the Zoom-Flume water delivery system to provide a waterpark-level thrill. The grip-around handrails and non-slip treads on the three ladder steps offer extra safety.

Unlike other slides we’ve reviewed from Inter-Fab, the Zoomerang comes in only a right-curve design and white color, as well as a 1-year warranty. Also note that this slide is not designed to be used in a salt pool.

S R Smith Cyclone Right Curve Pool Slide

Cyclone Pool Slide

Like the Zoomerang, the Cyclone Right Curve Pool Slide from S.R. Smith is also a small slide with plenty of potential! The rotomolded design offers plenty of strength, and the added size offers even more excitement! The Cyclone stands 4 feet, 1 inch tall, and its flume is 6 feet, 10 inches long. It can accommodate riders up to 175 pounds. The flume is wide and deep enough to offer both safety and comfort, too.

This compact slide is available in only a right curve design but does offer the possibility of three color options: Taupe, Gray Granite, and Sandstone. Like other pools from S.R. Smith, this one is salt pool friendly and backed by a 3-year warranty. It can be easily assembled in about an hour. One down side is that the anchor belts appear to be lacking in tensile strength.

If you have young children now but would prefer to wait on a built-in waterslide until they’re older, then maybe an inflatable waterslide would suit your needs better at this time. In that case, be sure to check out our next post about inflatable water slides!
