Nuts & Bolts of Priority Enrollment for Your Swim School

Once your swim school is ready to utilize the power of Jackrabbit Class management software, you’ll benefit in so many ways! Many swim schools appreciate the Online Registration opportunity provided by our software. Why is Online Registration so important? For one thing, it saves you — as well as your swim school staff members and parents — valuable time. For another thing, it helps ensure accuracy. And an added and perhaps unexpected benefit is that it helps increase your swim school’s enrollment!

Once you’re on board with Jackrabbit and Online Registration, we recommend that you also implement Priority Enrollment. If you’re not sure exactly what that means or why it can be helpful, this post is for you!

Priority Enrollment Basics

As the term indicates, Priority Enrollment allows you to give existing swim school families priority when it comes to enrollment, allowing loyal swimmers to secure positions in popular swimming classes before the general public is allowed to enroll. Jackrabbit Class has a specific portal set up specifically for this purpose, allowing you to give select parents the password to this secure area during your chosen Priority Enrollment period.

Priority Enrollment Perks

You’re probably wondering how your swim school will benefit from Priority Enrollment. Isn’t it just a way to show favoritism? Actually, everyone stands to benefit from Priority Enrollment — especially your swim school! Because everyone likes to feel special, Priority Enrollment allows you to show appreciation to your loyal swim school families in a way that really costs you barely anything. In return, you’ll help encourage every more loyalty from your existing swim school participants, increasing your retention rates. But don’t worry: this addition won’t do anything to reduce your new family acquisition. In fact, many of our clients who have offered Priority Enrollment have actually seen growth in the form of new families who look forward to receiving this special perk when next year rolls around.

Priority Enrollment Timing

The typical Open Enrollment week is between 1 and 2 months prior to the start of your new class session. In order to give your existing swim school families enough time to participate in Priority Enrollment while still sensing the time-sensitive nature of this offer, we suggest a one-week period for it as well. Jackrabbit Class software makes it simple for you to roll the same class listings from the password-protected portal used for Priority Enrollment over to the publicly accessible area to allow for Open Enrollment.

If you’ve not yet set up Online Registration, you can find out how to get started with that by reading this 3-part series (scroll down that page and click on the +Read More link near the bottom to access the series).  And don’t worry: you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. The Jackrabbit Support Team is here to help you through each step of the Enrollment or Registration process!
