How To Get Your Ministry Started With Egiving Systems

Last updated on September 13, 2011 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

You may have read about the “why” and “what” of the kinds of electronic giving solutions and online giving options provided through Egiving.com. Perhaps you’re wondering how exactly you get started and what to expect, next.

As you read about Egiving Systems and their introductory process, you’ll realize (in case you haven’t already) that this organization is not just a business or a financial service: It truly is a ministry. So, for starters, if you’re interested in online or electronic payment options for your business, Egiving Systems is not an option available to you. If, however, you represent a Christian nonprofit ministry that is supported by donations, this service can help you.

The first step in getting started is to fill out this simple form with information about your ministry. One part of that form requests that you detail your ministry’s goals and vision and specific goals you have in implementing Egiving.com’s tools. Knowing this information will help us to make recommendations tailored to your specific ministry’s needs and desires.

Another part of that form includes your agreement to our “Memo of Understanding,” which basically outlines our services and the philosophy behind what we do. Most notably, we want to make sure you understand that the way we can best serve you is not just by accepting payment from you and setting up the “nuts and bolts” of the services, but by an ongoing relationship. At the conclusion of the Memo, this significant aspect of our ministry is described: “We desire two relationships: your admin people for tool function and support and your leadership for giving strategy support.”

It’s important for you to realize, as the Memo also states, that “We see great potential for increase by following some simple strategies. We desire to work with your leadership to facilitate those strategies.” You see, Egiving Systems will not only provide the tools to help you see increase and improved efficiency of your financial donations, but it will provide support and training along the way. The tools we provide will, in some ways, be only as effective as their strategic implementation.

After filling out the general form regarding your ministry, you will receive an e-mail from us that includes our fee addendum as well as information regarding our processor requirements. At that time, you will be asked to fill out an application for our current default processor. You’ll probably want to fill out many of the fields online before printing the form and signing it. You can then fax the completed application and fee addendum back to us.

Once we have received and reviewed your application and fee addendum , we will begin a conversation with you that will start a long-term relationship. Our aim is to help you develop and implement a strategic plan for employing Biblical stewardship solutions that will make your electronic program a success.
