We’ve almost reached the conclusion of our article series exploring some of the various budget-friendly add-ons you could choose to incorporate into your backyard pool. The features we’ve looked at so far include eye-catching concrete pool borders, refreshing mini waterfalls, relaxing bench seat jets, and attractive waterline tiles (see Parts 1 & 2).
With just the items we’ve already mentioned, your backyard pool would already be transformed into a water-filled wonderland. What more could you possibly want for your outdoor oasis? While there are practically countless items you could consider for enhancing the look and feel of your pool, we’re going to mention just three more that can really make your pool ownership experience more pleasant without hurting your wallet.
Put in a Poolside Planter
Shrubs, flowers, and other plants can really upgrade the appearance of your pool area. Rather than just add pots here and there, you can add a touch of class to your patio by incorporating planters right into your poolside design. This feature makes it look like your pool and landscaping are all part of one lush, vibrant garden area.
Depending on the look you’re going for, you could design the landscaping to give off a high desert, tropical, or English countryside garden vibe. The choice is completely up to your unique taste. It would, however, be a smart idea to consult with a plant specialist at your local garden nursery before choosing which plants to add to your poolside planters. That way, you’ll be able to make selections that work well in your growing region. Be sure to also let them know how much sun and shade you have to work with, as well as the amount of time you plan to spend watering your planters. They’ll be able to point you in the right direction for the specific plants that will work best in your situation.
Add Tanning Ledge Bubblers
If you’re fortunate enough to have a tanning ledge built into your pool, take full advantage of this desirable space by including bubblers into the design. It’s much easier and less expensive to take care of incorporating this feature when you first install your pool. Not only will bubblers look amazing, but they’ll also create a pleasant background noise that will mimic a babbling brook. You should be able to adjust the stream of bubbles shooting out from strong and intense to soft and subtle. These fun features even come with built-in lights in a variety of different colors. They’re ideal for creating a festive mood at pool parties.
Include a Pool Vacuum
Spending time in your pool is great, but taking care of it can be a real nuisance. That’s why more and more pool owners are finding smart ways to cut back on those dreaded pool maintenance tasks. One of the ways you can simplify your pool cleaning duties is by installing an automatic pool vacuum in your pool. There are a variety of different types on the market, including robotic cleaners, pressure-side cleaners, and suction-side cleaners. These vacuums can save you countless hours and help you to have more time to relax and enjoy your pool.
As you can see, there is a myriad of ways in which you can take your pool to the next level while staying within your budget. Hopefully, this article series has helped you to figure out which add-ons would help you to make the most out of your backyard swimming experience.
