Encourage Online Giving for Churches

Last updated on May 10, 2012 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

The economy has become an unstable area in many areas today, impacting retail businesses, real estate, and the job market and creating a difficult and volatile world for businesses and organizations that rely on donations to function. Churches in particular depend upon the tithes of their patrons to continue both the operations of the church itself and also special activities and journeys sponsored by the church. Unfortunately, many churches may be experiencing a drop in donations due to the less-than-ideal economy.

Because jobs are scarce, many churchgoers find that they must work on Sundays and therefore miss church services where they could have donated a few dollars. Others must wait until they receive a paycheck to be able to afford their donations, leaving them empty-handed on Sundays.

Although just a few dollars from one person may not seem like much, when you add up the hundreds or thousands of people who could have contributed to the tithing in a church service but didn’t because the timing wasn’t right, it’s revealed to be a rather large sum of money.

Egiving.com is a fantastic solution for those who would like to contribute to church donations. Egiving is an online database set up so that donations and tithes can be made through electronic checks to the organization of the donor’s choice. The money is taken out of either their bank account or a from credit card, allowing people to donate even when they are living paycheck to paycheck. After setting up an account, donors don’t have to worry about signing a check every month because the donation can be scheduled to be withdrawn automatically.

Churches who sign on with Egiving.com often find that their donations increase significantly. Donors can even choose to donate to specific causes, such as mission trips to areas around the world. Without the services offered by Egiving.com, many churches would not be able to afford mission trips and other church activities.

Egiving.com is a simple and easy way that patrons can help support the church or Christ-centered efforts that they love, even if they are living paycheck to paycheck or are unable to attend church as regularly as they would like to. Egiving.com is a Christian company that devotes itself to helping Christian organizations find the funding they need to help spread God’s word.
