Added Perks of an X10 Home Security System

Last updated on June 26, 2018 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Once you understand the basics about how an X10 Home Security system works, you’ll probably be ready to take the plunge and buy one. But in case you’re still on the fence or feel like you just want a little more information, we think you’ll be as impressed as we are with these added features.

Multiple Preventive Measures

Effective Home Security begins with taking preventive measures, and an X10 Home Security system includes two such features. The first is comprised of signage; we have both yard signs and weatherproof decals to ward off would-be intruders by letting them know that you have a Home Security system. Another largely effective way to deter crime is to keep your home well lit. Timed lighting allows you to keep your home visible, whether you’re home or not. That lived-in look is highly proven to keep would-be burglars from selecting your home. And since X10 allows you to remotely control your connected lights and devices, you can turn on your porch lights from bed or even from your vehicle.

Additional Door & Window Sensors

4 Pack DS12A Security Door and Window Sensors

Unlike some other Home Security systems, X10 doesn’t limit your protection to a single entry point. Instead, you can add as many Door or Window sensors as you need to your X10 Home Security system. Start with your front and back doors, but don’t forget sliding glass doors, basement doors, and any first-floor windows!

If your chosen X10 Home Security bundle doesn’t include enough DS12A Smart Door/Window Sensor units for each of the entry points you want to protect, just add a 4-pack or 3, and you’ll be good to go! And if you don’t want to add more expense to your initial investment, that’s okay, too: Since all X10 Home Security system components integrate with one another, you can always beef up your initial system with added products at a later date.

Exceptional Motion Detection

MS18A X10 Smart Security Motion Detector

Each X10 Home Security bundle includes at least one unit of the MS18A Security Motion Sensor or PMS01 Wireless Security Motion Sensor. With a range of 30 to 40 feet, these powerful motion detectors can be set up in stairwells, hallways, or areas with multiple windows. By setting your system to “Home Mode,” you can allow your X10 Home Security system to protect your home’s perimeter without allowing interior movement to set off an alarm. As with the DS12A Smart Door/Window Sensor units, you can always add more Motion Sensor units to any X10 Home Security system, up to a combined maximum of 16 Motion Detectors and Door/Window Sensors.

Any SecuriLINK Wireless Home Security system can be set up to protect up to 30 zones, allowing it to handle even the largest homes. You can also add on two zones with hard-wired sensors, including third-party units, and they’ll be fully integrated into your X10 system!
