5 Layers of Home Security with X10 Starter Kits

Last updated on December 21, 2017 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Secure your home with an affordable X10 Starter Security System

X10 Home Security Kits are similar to X10 Home Automation Bundles in that each component is available for purchase individually. However, X10 Home Security kits are a little more specifically designed, with each carefully designed bundle incorporating at least one component to represent each of the 5 layers of security.

Introducing the 5 Layers of Home Security

The first layer of security that each X10 Home Security Kit includes can be classified as initial preventive measures. Proven to help deter would-be burglars, this layer includes Window Decals and Yard Signs. The second layer of protection is also preventive: timed lighting.

The third layer of security in any X10 Home Security Kit is comprised of perimeter security sensors designed to detect intruders that have entered your home. It can include the GB10A Security Glass Break Sensor and the DS12A Smart Door/Window Sensors.

The fourth layer of protection includes motion detectors for high-traffic areas within your home. X10 motion detectors are wireless and able to reach up to 40 feet, allowing a single module to cover plenty of space. One example is the MS18A Smart Security Motion Detector. The fifth layer of security in any X10 Home Security Kit will be the voice dialer, which calls your phone anytime your system has been triggered.
